Salí ("Salí," "we," "us") is a personal-safety app that lets you share live check-ins with people you trust. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the limits we hold ourselves to. Salí is operated by Deko Gonzalez, located in Colorado, USA. If you have questions, reach us at hello@salicircles.com.
The short version. We collect only what's needed to make Salí's safety features work. We do not sell your data, we don't run advertising trackers, and we don't share your information with data brokers. Your location and check-ins are shared only with the contacts you choose, and we delete that data quickly. You stay in control.
Information we collect
To provide the service, we collect:
- Account information — your name, email address, and phone number, so we can create your account and let your circle reach you.
- Contacts you add to a circle — the names and phone numbers or emails of the people you choose to include. We use these only to connect you with that circle.
- Location data — your device's location, collected only while you have an active session or are actively sharing (for example, during a Cuídame check-in, a Salimos outing, or an SOS). We do not track your location in the background when no session is active.
- Messages and check-in activity — chat messages within a circle, check-in status, and SOS events, so the feature can function and your circle can respond.
- Device and basic usage data — limited technical information (device type, app version, error logs) needed to keep the app working and secure.
How we use your information
We use the information above only to:
- Operate the core features — circles, Cuídame sessions, Salimos outings, Safe Zones, check-ins, and SOS alerts.
- Deliver notifications and alerts to your circle (including by SMS where applicable — see below).
- Keep the service secure, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.
- Respond to your support requests.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we don't process it for any purpose unrelated to providing Salí.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We don't use advertising or third-party tracking technologies in the app.
- We don't share your information with data brokers.
- We don't share your data with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messages (SMS)
If you provide a mobile number and a feature uses text messaging — for example, an SOS alert delivered by SMS when a recipient's app can't be reached — we use a messaging service provider to send those texts on our behalf.
We do not share your mobile information, phone number, or SMS opt-in/consent with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are used only to deliver the safety messages you've enabled, and are never sold or shared for marketing. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop safety SMS messages at any time by replying STOP; note that doing so may disable certain alerts.
How and with whom we share
Your live location and check-ins are visible only to the members of the circle you're sharing with. Beyond that, we share information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers who help us run Salí — such as hosting, messaging (SMS) delivery, and infrastructure providers. They may only process data on our instructions to provide the service, and not for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the safety of a person.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed. Location and active-session data is deleted within 72 hours after a session ends. Account information is kept while your account is active and removed after you delete your account.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update your account information, leave or delete circles, stop sharing your location at any time, and request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting hello@salicircles.com. Depending on where you live (for example, under Colorado, California, or EU/UK law), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your data; we honor applicable requests.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Children's privacy
Salí is intended for users 13 and older. Family features such as Salimos are intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental involvement.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
Salí is not an emergency service. It helps the people you trust look out for you — it does not contact police, fire, or medical responders. In a life-threatening emergency, always call your local emergency number first.
